The week before Christmas my family went on a Carnival Cruise to the Yucatan Peninsula. We made four stops, all were awesome! We were joined by my husbands grandparents which made the trip all the more special.
My family loves cruising. It is cheap and the service is awesome. These people treat you like family, waiting on you hand and foot. Another wonderful thing about cruising with Carnival Cruise Line is Camp Carnival. They provide you with top notch child care so everyone gets to do what they want. We have three girls 12, 10, and 5. Each child has a camp that caters to their age group. For two of our shore excursions we had to travel by bus for 2.5 hours to get to the Mayan Ruins, there was no way our 5 year old daughter could do that and the rest of us have a good time. She went to Camp Carnival and had a blast. Our 10 year old decided that after the first Mayan excursion (which was long and probably boring for a 10 year old) that she would rather stay on the ship and go to camp too. That is a huge plus for families with kids.
The following photos were taken with my new Canon G10. Man this camera is awesome!! It allows you to shoot in RAW and is fully manual. The video feature is also amazing. In my opinion this camera is worth every cent, the best point and shoot out there right now! I have others pix from my 5D but have not had a chance to even look at them. So there will probably be a part II to this post focusing on the Mayan Ruins.

Jesse, Whitney & Victoria at the first port of call Cozumel!

This is the resort we traveled to for snorkeling and zip lining. It was a blast.

Me and the girls all rigged up for Climbing and zip lining.

I love this photo. It looks like they are sizing each other up.

The birds look fake. Don’t they?

Whitney & Victoria, I love this pix too. Mya stayed on the boat for this excursion because she was too little.

Cozumel palm trees

Girls got their hair braided, we were total tourists!

This is the Mayan Ruin called Xunantunich located in Belize. We climbed to the top of this 13 story temple. The veiw was amazing!

Whitney & I at Kohunlich Mayan Ruin in Costa Maya. You can actually go into these chambers and we found a window and climbed out the back. Very cool.

Costa Maya – Absolutely gorgeous!

Love the shirt.

Our last stop was Nassau Bahamas, we did the Dolphin encounter at Dolphin Cay in the Atlantis Resort. I was not allowed to take my own pictures which was dissapointing because the photos they take for you to purchase are very low quality. However this was an AMAZING experience, I highly recommend this if you find yourself at the resort. This was the only excursion Mya could do and she LOVED it.

My husbands grandparents with our Super Charged Maître d Joseph. Every night we looked forward to seeing him at dinner. He was great!

This is Eddie & Melony. They were our severs each night for dinner. I can not say enough about these two people. Their mission was to make our experience one of a kind. Mya became so attached to Melony that she drew her pictures and still askes if she can write her a letter. So cool!

Once our cruise was over we took the girls to Kennedy Space Center. We didn’t have a lot of time because we had to catch a flight home. It was a good experience

Wow I can’t believe those came out of the G10, who knew a P&S could look that good. I drag my big camera everywhere since I don’t trust the quality of my P&S might have to add the G10 to my list right under the 5D markII .
Looks like you guys had an absolute blast!!
